Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 8, 2026

Welcome to TSL Toolbox. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. It covers both the TSL Toolbox web application and the TSL Toolbox browser extension for Google Chrome.

1. About the Browser Extension

TSL Toolbox provides a Chrome browser extension that enhances logistics workflows on supported platforms. The extension's single purpose is to provide freight management tools — including route mapping, vehicle management, route cost calculations, and workflow enhancements — directly within the logistics platforms you already use.

1.1. Supported Platforms

The extension operates on the following websites to provide its features:

  • Trans.eu — freight exchange and logistics platform
  • TimoCom — freight and vehicle exchange platform
  • Google Maps — route cost calculation and route planning features

1.2. Chrome Permissions Used

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

  • storage: Used to save your preferences, settings, and session data locally so they persist between browser sessions.
  • scripting: Used to display the extension's interface elements on the supported platforms listed above.
  • activeTab: Used to interact with the currently active tab when performing extension actions.

1.3. How the Extension Modifies Web Pages

On the supported platforms, the extension adds its own interface elements in an isolated manner to avoid interfering with the host page. These include:

  • Trans.eu & TimoCom: Map link buttons on freight offers, route filter controls, and a settings panel for vehicle management and preferences.
  • Google Maps: A route cost calculator overlay and a route planner feature for saving routes to your account.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide and improve our services. The type of information we collect depends on how you use our products.

2.1. Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Information: When you register, we collect your username, email address, and password.
  • Company Information: If you create or join a company account, we collect the company name, contact details, and administrative information.
  • Platform Identifiers: We collect your Trans.eu user ID and/or TimoCom user ID that you provide in your settings, to verify your identity on those platforms and enable platform-specific features.
  • Vehicle Data: When you add vehicles in the extension, we collect the vehicle details you enter, such as registration information and vehicle type. You may also choose to share vehicles with other users in your company.
  • Route and Trip Data: When you save routes or create trip records, we collect the route details and associated settings you provide.
  • Pricing and Route Configuration: We store the custom pricing and route settings you configure, such as preferred rates and waypoint preferences.
  • Payment Information: For paid plans, payments are processed by a trusted payment processor. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
  • Bug Reports and Feature Requests: When you submit a bug report or request a new integration, we collect the details you provide along with basic technical information about your browser to help us diagnose issues.
  • Support Communications: When you interact with our support system, we collect the messages and feedback you submit.

2.2. Information the Extension Reads from Web Pages

The extension reads limited, specific data from the supported platforms to provide its functionality. It does not read arbitrary page content, form inputs, passwords, or personal messages.

  • Freight Offer Locations: On Trans.eu and TimoCom, the extension reads loading and unloading location names displayed in freight offers and conversations to generate map links for those routes.
  • Route Information: On Google Maps, the extension reads route distance and duration to calculate estimated transport costs.
  • Platform Identity Verification: The extension checks locally stored platform session data to verify that the logged-in user matches the account configured in your TSL Toolbox settings. This verification is performed entirely on your device and these identifiers are not transmitted to our servers.

2.3. Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Analytics: We collect data about how you interact with our service, including which features you use and performance metrics.
  • Technical Information: We collect basic technical data including browser type and operating system for security and optimisation purposes.
  • Company Usage Statistics: For company accounts, we track aggregate usage statistics to provide administrative insights.
  • Notifications: We fetch and display in-app notifications related to your support tickets and system announcements.

2.4. Local Storage and Cookies

The extension stores data locally on your device to maintain your session and preferences between browser sessions. This includes your authentication session, user preferences, interface settings, and vehicle and pricing configurations. This data remains on your device and is not shared externally.

The web application uses cookies for authentication and session management.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Service Provision: To provide, maintain, and improve our core services, including generating map links, calculating route costs, and managing your vehicle fleet.
  • Account Management: To process your registration, manage your account, and handle subscription changes.
  • Payment Processing: To process payments, manage subscriptions, and generate invoices.
  • Settings Synchronisation: When you enable settings sync, your interface preferences are transmitted to our server so they can be restored across different devices or browser sessions.
  • Vehicle and Route Management: To store, retrieve, and display your vehicles, routes, and trips across sessions and devices.
  • Company Features: For company accounts, to provide team vehicle sharing, subcontractor management, company user lists, and administrative dashboards.
  • Communication: To send service updates, respond to support requests, and deliver in-app notifications about your tickets.
  • Security and Compliance: To verify your platform identity, enforce our terms of service, prevent fraud, and protect user accounts.
  • Analytics and Improvement: To analyse usage patterns, optimise performance, and guide product development.

4. Data Transmission

The extension communicates with TSL Toolbox servers over secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS) to provide its functionality. Data transmitted includes account credentials during login, vehicle and route information for persistent storage, user preferences when sync is enabled, support submissions, and service notifications.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information under the following circumstances:

  • Mapping Services: When you use map features, route information may be shared with third-party mapping providers (such as Google Maps or TomTom) through standard browser navigation to display your routes.
  • Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services for hosting, payment processing, and infrastructure. These providers process data only as needed to operate our service.
  • Company Accounts: If you are part of a company account, certain data such as vehicles and usage information may be visible to your company administrators and team members as applicable.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of the transaction.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for different periods depending on the type of data:

  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion.
  • Service Data: Vehicle, route, and trip records are retained while your account is active and deleted when you remove them or close your account.
  • Local Extension Data: Stored on your device and removed when you uninstall the extension or clear its data.
  • Usage Analytics: Aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes.
  • Payment Records: Retained as required by tax and accounting regulations.
  • Support Communications: Retained for a reasonable period to provide ongoing support and improve our services.

7. Data Security

We implement comprehensive security measures to protect your data:

  • Encryption: All data transmission between the extension and our servers uses secure encryption protocols.
  • Secure Authentication: We use industry-standard authentication methods with automatic session expiration.
  • Access Controls: Strict access controls and role-based permissions limit who can access user data within our organisation.
  • Isolated UI: The extension's interface is sandboxed from the host page to prevent interference with page security.
  • Monitoring: We continuously monitor our systems for security threats.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have several rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: You can access and review your account information through your dashboard.
  • Correction: You can update your account information and preferences at any time.
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and any associated data, including individual records such as vehicles and routes.
  • Data Portability: You can request a copy of your personal data in a structured format.
  • Control: You can enable or disable specific extension features and settings synchronisation through the extension's settings panel. You can uninstall the extension at any time, which removes all locally stored data.
  • Objection: You can object to certain processing of your personal data.
  • Restriction: You can request that we restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

To exercise these rights, please contact us at the email address below or use the settings in your account dashboard.
